The Walmsley Collection at the University of St. Andrews' School of Biological and Medical Sciences consists of 40 sectioned human embryos, ranging from 3mm (approx 27 days) to 50mm (9 weeks). The database allows researchers to find out whether the collection contains specimens that will be of use to them. The Department also stores sections from the collection as high-resolution computer images which can be made available via the Internet to other researchers.
